Yarn of the Week: 1

Every week, we’re going to post up a cool yarn that we have found!

This week is the first week so we’ll see how it goes and how many cool yarns we can find to gawp at in wonder.

It retails at £3.20 for a 50g ball (excluding shipping) and is made of 100% wool. It’s a super bulky weight yarn with a fuzzy texture and comes in six multi-colours: blue-green, pink-white-blue, green-red pink, red-purple-green, green-red-blue, turquoise-green-blue. I really like the pink colourway. What do you think?

The end of the weekend!

Well, it’s Sunday evening and the end of the weekend is drawing ever closer. I haven’t done much knitting at all this weekend, which is kinda a shame. Still, the knitted cupcake now has a new group on Ravelry and we have also added things to the finished projects, yummy recipes and upcoming events pages. Limenviolet have a new podcast out, so I shall be looking forward to listening to that tomorrow.

I am still trying to tweak a recipe to make the perfect cupcake and am not there yet, but having great fun trying. There were some great knitted cupcake rattles from Urchin advertised in the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine yesterday. They’re fairly traded from Bangladesh and are very cute!

As for my attempts, here they are below! They’re made on DPNs and are lots of fun. I’ll post the recipe when I’ve worked out how to make them best!
